Visit of Vice President of Yarmouk University to Faculty of Tourism and Hotel Management
Within the ongoing administrative visits to the faculties, the Vice-President of Yarmouk University Professor Anis Al-Khasawneh has visited the Faculty of Tourism and Hotel Management in order to assess the needs of the faculty. At the beginning of the meeting, the dean of the faculty Dr Mohammed S. Shannaq welcomed the Vice President and briefed him with the current situation of the faculty and its major achievements that include staff promotions, teaching process, and the efforts of faculty staff from academics and administrative to develop the faculty. The efforts were culminated by getting the International Accreditation of tourism education ( Tedqual) a cohesive accomplishment achieved by the staff, the students, and the local community. The Dean said Yarmouk University is the first Jordanian and second Bachelor program in the Middle East, the Department of Tourism and Travel at Yarmouk University receives the international accreditation from the World Tourism Organization (TEDQUAL), the highest international mark of quality given to tourism education institutions worldwide. From his side the Vice President highly praised all the efforts carried out by the Department of tourism in order to get the international accreditation of tourism education (TEDQUAL). Although of being a young faculty it gets the international achievement that is supported by the reputation of itsacademic staff in the two departments Tourism and Travel department and Hotel Management Department. The vice president has stressed the support that the top management will provide to the faculty. At the end of the meeting a long discussion was held between the staff and vice president concerning issues related to challenges that face the faculty, the discussion was ended by promises to meet all the needs of the faculty especially those related to the infrastructure.
