The Travel and Tourism Department at the Faculty of Tourism and Hotel Management, Yarmouk University, conducted a field visit to Dania Baibars Company for Events and Celebrations Management to follow up on students enrolled in the Field Training in Tourism Establishments course during the summer semester and to assess the practical experience they were gaining in event and celebration management.
The visit formed part of the Faculty’s efforts to connect academic knowledge with practical application and introduce students to professional working environments in the events sector. It also provided an opportunity to follow up on the students’ participation in assigned tasks and assess their ability to adapt to the operational and organizational requirements of event management.
During the visit, the students’ activities and responsibilities were reviewed, along with the practical skills they had developed during their training. They were also introduced to several aspects of event management, including planning, organization and coordination, communication with clients and service providers, event preparation, and the implementation of various activities and celebrations.
The students also shared their observations about the training experience and the skills they had gained. They received guidance aimed at developing their communication, teamwork, time management, responsibility, and professional conduct. The visit highlighted the importance of practical training in helping students understand the nature of work in the events sector and apply their academic knowledge and skills in real working situations.
The visit was conducted as part of the Faculty’s plan to strengthen the practical dimension of its academic programmes and expand cooperation with tourism and event-related organizations, providing students with meaningful training opportunities and supporting their readiness for the labor market. The visit was carried out by the course instructor, Dr. Mohammad Abuhjeeleh, accompanied by the field training supervisor, Mr. Mohammad Jba’ateh.
