Hospitality Management Students at Yarmouk University Present Their Internship Outcomes in Hotels and Restaurants
نظّThe Department of Hospitality Management organized field training discussion sessions for its students, attended by the Head of the Department, all faculty members, and field training supervisors. These sessions were held as part of the department’s efforts to monitor practical training outcomes and strengthen students’ connection with the labor market.
During the discussions, students presented their internship experiences, which were carried out in several five-star hotels and restaurants in Amman and Aqaba. They delivered presentations highlighting the skills, knowledge, and practical experience they gained during their training period, as well as the major challenges they encountered and the methods they used to address them in real hospitality work environments.
The students explained the positive impact of field training on the development of their professional competencies in guest services, hotel operations management, food and beverage services, effective communication, and teamwork within multidisciplinary environments. They also emphasized how the training enhanced their problem-solving and decision-making abilities in various operational situations.
Faculty members stressed the importance of field training as one of the fundamental pillars in preparing qualified professionals for the hospitality industry. They commended the quality of the students’ presentations, which reflected professional maturity and a deep understanding of the nature of work in leading hospitality establishments.
The department places great emphasis on practical training as a vital link between academic knowledge and professional practice. It also highlighted that its partnerships with distinguished hospitality institutions provide students with high-quality training opportunities and enhance their readiness to enter the labor market upon graduation.
The discussion sessions provided students with an opportunity to exchange experiences and practical insights, demonstrating the significant benefits they gained from training in professional work environments. This aligns with the vision of Yarmouk University and the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels to prepare graduates who possess the competence, skills, and competitiveness required to succeed in the hospitality sector at the local, regional, and international levels.
