
The Faculty of Tourism and Hotels at Yarmouk University, in cooperation with the Jordanian National Tourism Marketing Company/Amadeus, conducted a certified examination based on the Global Distribution System (Amadeus). The exam targeted students enrolled in the Airline Reservation Systems course, as well as a number of faculty graduates who had completed the free training program organized by the faculty on the same system. The examination was held in the laboratories of the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels.
This examination was organized as part of the faculty’s commitment to strengthening practical and applied learning, and to enabling students and graduates to acquire the professional skills necessary for using globally recognized reservation systems employed by airlines and travel and tourism agencies, thereby enhancing their readiness to enter the labor market.
The training program was supervised and delivered by Mr. Zahir Khasawneh from the Department of Tourism and Travel, who also teaches the Airline Reservation Systems course. The program focused on equipping participants with the practical skills required to use the Global Distribution System (Amadeus), as well as handling procedures related to booking and issuing airline tickets in accordance with the standards adopted in the aviation and tourism sectors.
The examination witnessed strong participation from both students and graduates, whose practical skills in using the system were evaluated. Participants who successfully passed the exam were awarded a certified certificate from Amadeus, which enhances their employment opportunities with airlines and travel and tourism agencies.
Professor Dr. Saad Al-Saad, Dean of the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels, emphasized that organizing such training programs and certified examinations reflects the faculty’s commitment to developing students’ and graduates’ skills and aligning academic outcomes with labor market needs through effective partnerships with leading institutions in the tourism and aviation sectors.
For their part, representatives of the Jordanian National Tourism Marketing Company/Amadeus, Mr. Jamal ElKhader and Mr. Khalid Mahafzah, expressed their pride in the ongoing collaboration with the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels. They affirmed that organizing training courses and certified examinations contributes to preparing qualified professionals equipped with the technical skills necessary to keep pace with developments in the tourism and aviation sectors. They also delivered a presentation to students on the latest developments in the Global Distribution System (Amadeus), highlighting key updates and new services being developed by the company, in addition to providing professional guidance and insights that enhance students’ and graduates’ readiness to enter the labor market.
