The Travel and Tourism Department at the Faculty of Tourism and Hotel Management at Yarmouk University conducted a field visit to the Irbid Tourism Directorate to follow up on students enrolled in the Field Training in Tourism Establishments course during the summer semester. The visit aimed to assess the progress of the students’ training and the extent to which they were benefiting from the duties and activities assigned to them.

The visit formed part of the Faculty’s efforts to connect academic knowledge with practical experience and to ensure that students are effectively integrated into the workplace. It also provided an opportunity to review their commitment to assigned responsibilities and their ability to respond to the requirements of institutional work.

During the visit, the students discussed the tasks they had undertaken and the experience they had gained in tourism-related work. They were also introduced to the role of the Irbid Tourism Directorate in monitoring tourism activities and establishments, coordinating with relevant stakeholders, and supporting tourism development in Irbid Governorate.

The students shared their observations and challenges and received guidance on developing their communication, teamwork, responsibility, and professional conduct. The visit also highlighted the importance of field training in preparing students for employment and enabling them to apply their knowledge and skills in real working environments.

The visit was conducted as part of the Faculty’s plan to strengthen the practical dimension of its academic programmes and enhance cooperation with public tourism institutions. It was carried out by the course instructor, Dr. Mohammad Abuhjeeleh, accompanied by the field training supervisor, Mr. Mohammad Jaba’tah.
