As part of Yarmouk University’s preparations for upcoming field visits aimed at enhancing the faculties’ readiness for international academic accreditation and strengthening the University’s standing in global rankings, the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels, in cooperation with the Faculty of Archaeology and Anthropology, hosted a preparatory meeting at the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels Auditorium. The meeting was attended by Prof. Ruba Bataineh, Vice President of Yarmouk University for Scientific Research, International Accreditations, and Rankings.
The meeting was held as part of a series of meetings organized by the University to assess the current status of its faculties, review their key achievements, and identify opportunities for development and improvement. These efforts aim to develop actionable plans that enhance the faculties’ readiness to meet international accreditation requirements and global ranking indicators.
The meeting was attended by a number of vice deans, assistant deans, heads of academic departments, faculty members, and administrative staff from both faculties. It also featured presentations highlighting the current status, major achievements, and future development plans of the two faculties.
Prof. Saad Al-Saad, Dean of the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels, delivered a presentation highlighting the faculty’s major achievements and academic programs, as well as its initiatives in quality assurance, international accreditation, and scientific research. He also addressed the faculty’s local and international partnerships, future development plans, and key challenges and opportunities, emphasizing efforts to further enhance its competitiveness and the quality and distinction of its academic programs.
Dr. Mahmoud Al-Naamneh, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Archaeology and Anthropology, also delivered a presentation reviewing the faculty’s current status and its key academic and research achievements. He highlighted its efforts in academic accreditation and program development, as well as the challenges and future opportunities associated with enhancing the faculty’s performance and competitiveness.
For her part, Prof. Ruba Bataineh, Vice President of Yarmouk University for Scientific Research, International Accreditations, and Rankings, emphasized the importance of integrating efforts across the University’s various faculties and academic and administrative units and fostering a spirit of teamwork. She noted that such collaboration contributes to strengthening Yarmouk University’s competitiveness, enhancing the quality of its academic and research outcomes, and achieving its objectives in international accreditation and global rankings.
The meeting concluded with an extensive discussion among the participants, during which a number of proposals, ideas, and recommendations were presented to support the University’s development efforts and enhance the faculty’s readiness for the upcoming field visits. These efforts are aligned with Yarmouk University’s vision and strategic directions toward institutional excellence and the advancement of education, scientific research, and community service.
