Discussing aspects of cooperation between the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels, Yarmouk University, and Al-Manara Hotel; affiliated with Saraya Aqaba Company

On Thursday, 06/10/2022, a meeting was held at the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels Management at Yarmouk University with the Director of Training and Education at the Al-Manara Hotel of Saraya Aqaba, Mr. AnasBadina. The aim of the meeting was to discuss the aspects of cooperation in the field of training of the faculty students at Al-Manara Hotel in the city of Aqaba, as well as the possibilities of training students at all hotels of Eagles Hill Company.

The extended meeting was attended by the Dean of the College of Tourism and Hotels, Prof. Dr. Atef Al-Sheyab, the assistant dean for accreditation and quality affairs, the assistant dean of the conventions and international relations affairs, heads of departments, a number of faculty members and a number of students who will be recruited to train at Al-Manara Hotel.

It is noteworthy that Eagles Hill is a multi-investment company that owns and operates several hotels, namely the Al Manara Hotel in Aqaba, the W Hotel in Amman, and the Saint Regis Hotel in Amman also, a company operated by Marriott International.

During the meeting, the Dean of the College of Tourism and Hotels spoke about the reality and capabilities of the college and the advanced level that the college aspires to with regard to the skills that students have, and to meet the needs of the market, whether in the capital Amman or in the Golden Triangle, especially the tourist city of Aqaba.

Dr. Hakam Al-Shatnawi, the head of the hotel’s department, explained the nature of the cooperation that the college aspires to have with Saraya Aqaba and Al-Manara Hotel specifically in a manner that serves the objectives of the Hotel Management Department in particular, and the College of Tourism and Hotels in general.

 At the end of the meeting, it was agreed to prepare a draft agreement to be concluded between the college and the aforementioned company, which will result in the signing of an agreement between the two parties. Moreover, an extensive meeting was also held with the students of the Hotel Management Department at the College of Tourism and Hotels with the aim of reviewing their capabilities and arranging the details of starting the training process for this semester. Furthermore, the two parties discussed the main items that will be included in the agreement in a way that ensures the identification of a long-term work mechanism that serves the objectives of the two parties.
