Signing an agreement between Yarmouk University and the Armed Forces Hotel
To strengthen cooperation in training students of the Hotel Management Department at the College of Tourism and Hotel Management, today, Wednesday 04-01-2023, at the Armed Forces Hotel located in Tabarbour, a bilateral agreement was signed between Yarmouk University and the Armed Forces Hotel.
The agreement was signed on behalf of Yarmouk University by Prof. Dr. Islam Massad, President of the University, and on behalf of the Armed Forces Hotel, Colonel Murad Bani Amer, in the presence of a large number of specialized officers and senior management staff in the hotel.
At the signing ceremony, the President of Yarmouk University was accompanied by Prof. Dr. Atef Al-Shiyab, Dean of the Faculty of Tourism and Hotel Management, and the administrative staff of the faculty represented by department heads deputy and dean’s assistants.
The General Director of the Armed Forces Hotel, Colonel Murad Bani Amer, welcomed the Yarmouk University delegation and accompanied them on a welcoming and fam tour of the hotel, which included all departments. The meeting also included a detailed explanation of the important and pivotal role played by the Armed Forces Hotel in sustainable social development and in serving local communities and business partners in the tourism sector.
During the signing ceremony, a meeting took place between the two parties, which focused on introducing the College of Tourism and Hotels with all its academic programs, which offer several specializations at the bachelor’s and
master’s levels. The prospects for cooperation and training of students were discussed with the aim of hiring them in this vital hotel establishment.
The President of Yarmouk University expressed his keen interest in building partnerships with all parties, which is a pillar for Yarmouk University, focusing at the same time on the pivotal role of our valiant forces in building people and protecting homelands. Therefore, the signing of this agreement is a reinforcement of its pivotal role and an approach that contributes to nation-building.
Prof. Dr. Atef Al-Shiyab, the dean of the Tourism and Hotels Management faculty, delivered a speech about the long-term relations between Yarmouk University and the Armed Forces Hotel. Prof. Al-Shiyab also talked about the importance of studying the hotel and tourism management disciplines. He also noted the importance of signing such agreements in enhancing students' skills and creating sustainable job opportunities.
The GM of the Armed Forces Hotel, Col. Murad Bani Amer, explained the important role of the Armed Forces Hotel in serving business partners in the tourism sector and creating job opportunities for the local communities, as it is the only hotel affiliated with the Armed Forces in the capital, Amman. The rated four-star hotel contains 39 hotel rooms equipped with the best hotel equipment and many other facilities that enrich the visitor's experience.
It is noteworthy that the hotel management majors are among the majors that Jordan needs greatly due to the presence of a large number of five-, four- and three-star hotels, as these investments play a prominent role in the sustainable development of the Kingdom and the creation of promising job opportunities for Jordanian students.
