The Royal Directorate of Environmental Protection entitled "Sustainable Tourism and Reducing Environmental Impact"
A student sustainability team at the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels organizes a workshop in cooperation with the Royal Directorate of the Environmental Protection Department entitled "Sustainable Tourism and Reducing Environmental Impact"
Within the framework of enhancing environmental awareness and achieving sustainable development, the student sustainability team organized a workshop at the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels in cooperation with the Royal Directorate of Environmental Protection entitled "Sustainable Tourism and Reducing Environmental Impact" with the participation of a number of students of the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels.
The workshop, presented by Marwan Al-Faouri, Head of the Environment Department in the Northern Region from the Royal Directorate for Environmental Protection, dealt with the importance of sustainable tourism in preserving the environment and reducing the environmental impact resulted from tourism and non-tourism activities that affect the environment both directly and indirectly, and the role played by His Majesty King Abdullah II Bin Al-Hussein and Prince Al-Hussein in their environmental interest and their participation in climate-related conferences. While further discussing the international health laws and Jordan's role in environmental protection in terms of establishing the Royal Department to protect the environment and the attention and services it provides, and the best practices and policies that can contribute to achieving a balance between Sustainable development and conservation of natural resources and the most important partners in the public and private sectors of the Directorate.
In his speech, the Head of the Northern Region Section in the Directorate of the Royal Department for Environmental Protection, Lt. Marwan Al-Faouri, stressed the importance of cooperation between the various concerned authorities apply the concept of environmental sustainability in Jordan, and praised the students of the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels, pointing out that preserving the environment is a joint responsibility that requires a commitment from all parties, whether government entities, the private sector or the local community.
Thereafter, the Dean of the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels, Prof. Akram Atef Rawashdeh, stressed the importance of holding such workshops that enhance the concept and impact of sustainable tourism on the natural environment in Jordan and the possible cooperation between the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels at Yarmouk University and the Royal Department for Environmental Protection and thanked the Royal Department of Environmental Protection for providing such workshops.
It is worth mentioning that this workshop is one of the activities of the student sustainability team at the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels through the coordination of the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs, Training and Conventions, Mr. Zaher Khasawneh.
