Yarmouk University Among the World's Best Universities in "Tourism and Hospitality Management, Archaeology, Business, and Computer Science"
Yarmouk University has achieved significant progress in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2024, according to the latest rankings released this April.
In this ranking, the university was placed among the top 101-150 universities globally in Tourism, Hospitality, and Leisure Management, among the top 201-240 universities globally in Archaeology, and among the top 451-500 universities globally in Computer Science. Additionally, it was ranked among the top 551-600 universities globally in Business and Management Studies and among the top 501-550 universities globally in the broad field of Arts and Humanities.
The QS World University Rankings by Subject is one of the most prestigious global rankings of educational institutions. It evaluates universities based on five main indicators: academic reputation, employer reputation, citation per paper, h-index for research impact, and international research collaboration.
According to this year's ranking report, nearly 5,000 educational institutions worldwide were analyzed across five broad academic areas and 55 specific academic disciplines.
The President of Yarmouk University, Dr. Islam Massad, expressed his pride and appreciation for the university's achievements in advancing its global rankings, reflecting its excellence and ability to evolve in line with modern developments in education. He emphasized the university’s commitment to preparing graduates equipped to build the future and compete in regional and international job markets.
Dr. Massad added that Yarmouk's advancement in various global rankings is the result of concerted and integrated efforts by its academic and administrative staff across all faculties. It stems from comprehensive reforms and restructuring of the teaching and learning processes, including updating academic plans, providing advanced labs and scientific equipment, adopting modern teaching methods, and supporting scientific research across diverse fields. These efforts positively impact the university's reputation and academic distinction.
He also commended the efforts of the Accreditation and Quality Assurance Center and all those involved in preparing and monitoring the university's participation in this and other global rankings.
Dr. Massad congratulated other Jordanian universities that also improved their global rankings, highlighting how such achievements enhance the efforts of the Jordanian state, represented by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, in maintaining and elevating the global standing of Jordan's higher education sector to keep pace with rapid global developments.
