Department of Hotel Management Conducts Field Visit to Five-Star Hotels in Amman

As part of the Department of Hotel Management at Yarmouk University’s commitment to strengthening the practical aspect of education and aligning its learning outcomes with labor market requirements, the department conducted a field visit to a number of five-star hotels in Amman on Sunday, March 29, to follow up on students’ practical training. The visit was attended by the Head of the Department of Hotel Management, Dr. Omar Taha, and the Field Training Supervisor, Mr. Mohammad Jaba’a. The visit aimed to review the progress of the training process, evaluate students’ performance at their training sites, and enhance cooperation with partners in the hospitality sector.

The tour began at Grand Hyatt Amman, where the delegation was received by the Training Manager, Ms. Enas Hashani, who organized a field tour covering the departments in which the students are training. The delegation also met with direct supervisors, who praised the students’ performance, highlighting their excellence and strong commitment. In a subsequent stop, the delegation visited Hilton Amman, where they were welcomed by the Training Manager, Mr. Wasfi Al-Najjar. A meeting was held with the students and their supervisors. The hotel management expressed its appreciation for the students’ performance, noting that several trainees continued working after completing their training, with some securing permanent positions due to their competence. The new batch of students also received positive feedback, with emphasis on the importance of sustaining this fruitful collaboration.

The visit concluded with a stop at Landmark Amman Hotel, where the delegation met with Mr. Ghassan Al-Qudsi. Discussions focused on future prospects for cooperation and the possibility of signing a bilateral training agreement, similar to existing agreements with several five-star hotels in the Kingdom. The Department of Hotel Management reaffirmed its commitment to expanding its network of partnerships within the hospitality sector. It is currently working on finalizing a new agreement with The Ritz-Carlton, in addition to pursuing further agreements that provide high-quality training opportunities and contribute to preparing qualified graduates capable of competing in the labor market.
