تعاون أكاديمي وتدريبي لتطوير مهارات الطلبة في فنون الطهي والضيافة

The Dean of the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels, Prof. Dr. Saad Al-Saad, welcomed Ms. Lina Kan’an, Manging Director of the U.S. Meat Export Federation, and Ms. Abeer Al-Hanaiti from the Jordan Chefs Association during a visit aimed at reviewing the facilities and equipment of the faculty’s production kitchen and discussing prospects for joint cooperation in specialized training and qualification in culinary arts and meat sciences.
The meeting was attended by the Head of the Hotel Management Department, Dr. Omar Taha, along with faculty members Prof. Dr. Omar Al-Ananzeh, Prof. Dr. Hakam Al-Shatnawi, and Mr. Furat Al-Muhaisen. During the meeting, extensive discussions were held regarding the organization of a free specialized training course for faculty members and students of the Hotel Management Department. The course is expected to be held in June of this year and aims to enhance practical skills and professional knowledge related to meat handling and preparation methods.
The visit also included a tour of the faculty’s production kitchen, where Ms. Kan’an reviewed the practical and training facilities provided to students, which contribute to strengthening the practical aspect of education and linking the learning process to labor market needs in the hospitality and culinary arts sectors. Mr. Yahya Al-Jarrah, Head of the Nutrition Department, and Chef Khaled Al-Rifai provided a detailed explanation of the production kitchen and its available facilities and equipment.
The training course, which will be delivered by a group of specialized chefs in this field, will cover several important topics, including the identification of different beef cuts, professional cutting techniques, proper meat preparation methods, and modern cooking techniques according to internationally recognized hospitality standards.
Dr. Al-Saad emphasized the importance of building partnerships with specialized international institutions and organizations to develop the skills of students and faculty members and to enhance the level of practical training at the faculty. He also highlighted the faculty’s commitment to benefiting from global expertise and expanding its international relations network in ways that serve the academic and professional interests of its students.
For his part, Dr. Omar Taha noted that the Hotel Management Department continues to attract high-quality initiatives and training programs that enhance students’ competencies and provide them with advanced practical experience, helping prepare and qualify them for both local and regional labor markets.
