Faculty of Tourism and Hotels at Yarmouk University Launches the Fourth Issue of Its Scientific and Media Magazine

The Faculty of Tourism and Hotels at Yarmouk University has announced the launch of the fourth issue of the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels Magazine, in a new edition that reflects the ongoing academic, scientific, and media activity within the faculty, and reaffirms its commitment to strengthening its intellectual presence and enhancing its role in serving the tourism and hospitality sectors at both the local and regional levels. This issue was prepared by the Faculty Magazine Club team under the supervision of Prof.Hakam Salem Shatnawi, and featured a diverse range of content highlighting the faculty’s most notable achievements and its academic, scientific, and community activities, in addition to showcasing student initiatives, success stories, and the research outcomes of graduate students.

In his opening remarks for the issue, the Dean of the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels, Prof. Saad Al-Saad, emphasized that the tourism and hospitality sector is undergoing rapid transformations that require academic institutions to keep pace with global developments and continuously modernize their educational approaches. He noted that the faculty continues to fulfill its mission by providing modern education that meets labor market demands and prepares qualified professionals equipped with innovation and adaptability skills to face technological, economic, and environmental changes. Prof.Al-Saad further explained that the faculty is continuously working to develop its study plans and strengthen practical and digital education, with a focus on sustainability concepts, artificial intelligence, and the development of modern professional skills, in addition to expanding partnerships with both the public and private sectors to prepare graduates capable of leading the tourism sector with competence and professionalism.

For his part, the Editor-in-Chief of the magazine, Prof. Hakam Salem Shatnawi, expressed his pride in publishing the fourth issue, affirming that the magazine has become an important academic and media platform that highlights the faculty’s efforts and achievements, while shedding light on the growing importance of the tourism and hospitality sector as one of the key drivers of sustainable development. Prof. Shatnawi pointed out that the magazine aims to provide scientific and media content that reflects the faculty’s development and the diversity of its activities, while emphasizing the active role played by faculty members, administrative staff, and students in supporting the journey of excellence and creativity within the faculty.

The fourth issue included a collection of scientific and informative articles prepared by faculty and administrative members, in addition to presentations of the most prominent master’s theses discussed during the academic semester, as well as comprehensive coverage of the faculty’s activities and events, particularly training and field programs that represent a fundamental pillar in preparing students and linking academic knowledge with practical application. The issue also placed special emphasis on highlighting the efforts and active participation of the faculty’s students, in appreciation of their significant role in preparing and producing the magazine in such a distinguished manner, reflecting the spirit of teamwork and the faculty’s commitment to empowering students and involving them in various media, cultural, and academic activities.

The publication of the fourth issue comes as part of the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels’ ongoing commitment to maintaining the continuity of its scientific and media publications, reflecting the development of institutional work within the faculty and reaffirming its vision of becoming a leading academic center that contributes to community service, supports the tourism and hospitality sector, and promotes innovation and excellence among its students and graduates.
