Faculty of Tourism and Hotels at Yarmouk organizes a virtual symposium for pioneers in the Arab world with a TedQual certificate.

The Faculty of Tourism and Hotels held a virtual symposium, which was moderated by Dr. Sawsan Haider Khreis,  in collaboration with the Department of Tourism at Sultan Qaboos University in Oman and the Royal Academy of Culinary Arts in Jordan, and in partnership with the college of Tourism and Hospitality at Tabuk University. They discussed the obtention of TedQual issued by the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO).

The Dean of the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels at Yarmouk University, Prof. Dr. Akram Rawashdeh, talked about the stages of obtaining accreditation. He also stressed the need to activate this accreditation for the benefit of college students and faculty staff through the advantage of benefiting from scholarships and exchanging experiences for colleagues.

Dr. Majda Silti from the Department of Tourism at Sultan Qaboos University also reviewed the Omani experience as the first Arab country that obtained the certification. From his side, the Director of the Royal Academy of Culinary Arts, Mr. Jacques Rossell, provoked the importance of the prestige associated with getting this certificate, which means greater care and responsibility to ensure quality and that it can be renewed in the future.

The Head of Tourism and Hospitality, Dr. Abuelhassan El-Shazly, from Tabuk University in Saudi Arabia. added that even though the College of Tourism and Hospitality was established two years ago, it aspires to obtain this important accreditation to ensure a competitive place in the region. Finally, It was agreed that a series of symposiums would be held in the future among these distinct faculties.
