Tourism and Hotel College Implements a 20-Hour Training Program for Its Students
During the student break between semesters, the Tourism and Hotel College, in collaboration with the Jordan Food and Drug Administration, conducted a training program on the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) system. The program lasted four days, totaling 20 training hours, and included both theoretical and practical components.
The course also featured field visits to Al-Durra factory in Al-Hassan Industrial City to observe critical control points in the food manufacturing process, and visits to Abu Riad Restaurants and Sidra Hotel as tourism establishments.
This course aimed to enhance the knowledge of Tourism and Hotel College students, especially those in hotel management, in the applications of food and beverage safety in restaurants and hotels, which is their primary employment field after graduation.
Dr. Akram Rawashdeh, the Dean of the College, stated that such courses add significant value to the students upon graduation, impacting the safety of food served in restaurants and hotels, a fundamental service provided to tourists that must meet health standards to protect their health.
He added that 20 students and three faculty members participated in the course, and participants will receive a certified certificate from the Jordan Food and Drug Administration, enhancing their job prospects in tourism and hotel establishments after graduation.
