Field training students at the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels participate in a trip for Umrah performers.

A group of field training students from the Department of Tourism and Travel at Yarmouk University’s Faculty of Tourism and Hotels, under the supervision of Dean Prof. Akram Rawashdeh, accompanied 200 Umrah performers as part of their training at "Al-Hakeem Hajj and Umrah Office" in Amman.

The students assisted with various tasks, including electronic visa bookings, bus arrangements, distributing and registering pilgrims, and booking hotels in Mecca and Medina. They also managed the entry and exit procedures at the Jordan-Saudi border and guided pilgrims in performing Umrah rituals.

Prof. Rawashdeh emphasized that this participation aligns with the goals of the field training course, which aims to provide hands-on experience in electronic booking, tourism operations, and Hajj and Umrah services. He commended the students’ commitment to the agreed training hours.

In line with the university's philosophy, the faculty prioritizes student involvement in practical activities to enhance their skills and prepare them for the job market. The faculty is committed to high-quality education that keeps pace with the latest developments in tourism.

Dr. Yasser Al-Amro, the office owner, praised the students for their exceptional performance, noting that each student supervised a bus of 45 Umrah performers, ensuring their needs were met and travel procedures ran smoothly.

Training supervisors Mr. Ziad Dabas and Mr. Adel Issa, along with course instructor Mr. Zaher Khassawneh, explained that students had received theoretical training in Hajj and Umrah procedures before the practical field trip, which was fully sponsored by the office for the students to experience the full scope of pilgrimage operations.
