The Department of Tourism and Travel Organizes a Lecture for Students Entitled (Using Social Media Platforms to Promote the Jordanian Tourism Product)
As part of the extracurricular activities regularly held by the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels, the Department of Tourism and Travel organized a lecture for its students entitled: “Using Social Media Platforms to Promote the Jordanian Tourism Product”. The lecture was delivered by Ms. Ghina Fahmawi, an expert and trainer in digital marketing and the founder of Ghina Media for Digital Marketing and Graphic Design.
The event began with a welcome speech from Dr. Areej Al-Awdat, the organizer of the lecture. The session was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels, Prof. Dr. Akram Rawashdeh, the Head of the Tourism and Travel Department, Dr. Mohammad Abu Hajila, and a large number of undergraduate and postgraduate students.
In his address, the Dean of the Faculty welcomed the guest speaker, who is an alumna of the Department of Tourism and Travel, having earned her Master’s degree in Tourism in 2017. Ms. Fahmawi expressed her deep gratitude for the knowledge she acquired during her studies, which she has utilized in her career as a digital marketing expert.
The lecture was marked by dynamic interaction and active engagement, as students began posing questions to the speaker right from the start. By the end of the session, an agreement was reached to
initiate a project promoting northern tourist destinations. A group of students will undertake this project in coordination with Ghina Media, which will provide the necessary training in digital marketing skills.
It is noteworthy that Ms. Ghina Fahmawi has worked with numerous small and medium-sized enterprises across the MENA region. She is a certified digital marketing trainer for Meta (Facebook) training programs, an e-commerce consultant for programs aimed at enhancing national exports and competitiveness, and a mentor for companies, factories, NGOs, and entrepreneurs in various countries.
On the sidelines of the lecture, a meeting was held in the office of Prof. Dr. Akram Rawashdeh, with the attendance of Dr. Areej Al-Awdat, to discuss the proposal for a Memorandum of Understanding between Yarmouk University and Ghina Media for Digital Marketing and Graphic Design. This proposal will be submitted to the university administration, which supports partnerships between the university and local community institutions.
