Faculty of Tourism and Hotels Organizes a Lecture on the Importance of Jordanian Tourism as Part of the BTEC Career Path
As part of its commitment to integrating with and serving local communities, Dr. Fakhrieh Majed Drabasah from the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels at Yarmouk University delivered an awareness lecture at Bishra Comprehensive Mixed Secondary School. The lecture, held on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, focused on introducing the concept of tourism, the importance of tourism in Jordan, and the value of tourism education. Additionally, it introduced the BTEC program.
The lecture received notable engagement from the students, providing them with insights into the BTEC program and its academic and professional branches, including tourism, travel, hospitality, and the schools and universities associated with these fields.
Dr. Drabasah explained that the process of career choice is a critical step in shaping an individual’s professional future and determining their career path. She emphasized the importance of adopting sound principles and considerations when making career decisions to ensure a bright and successful future. She also addressed the factors influencing decision-making, such as available opportunities, personal circumstances, family, friends, experience, and economic and social factors.
