Yarmouk Tourism Presents a Lecture on Food Conditions and Safety in Tourism and Hotel Establishments

 The Faculty of Tourism and Hotels, in cooperation with the General Organization for Food and Drugs - Irbid Branch, held a lecture titled "Food Safety and Health in the Tourist and Hotel Establishment," in which Dr. Hadeel Abu Samra from the Technical Coordination and Consumer Awareness Division of the Foundation participated, alongside the Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Akram Rawashdeh, the Director of the Irbid Branch of the Foundation, Eng. Adnan Azaizeh, and a number of college students and faculty members.

At the start of the lecture, Dr. Rawashdeh explained that the holding of this event comes within the series of activities and events held by the college with the aim of enriching the knowledge stock of its students, and opening channels of communication with the concerned authorities in the tourism and hotel sector, in order to inform them about the reality of the labor market and its requirements, appreciating the Food and Drug Foundation for its permanent cooperation with the university, and its active role in the field of food control in hotels and restaurants in Irbid governorate.

In turn, Al-Azaiza pointed out the Foundation's keenness to enhance cooperation and communication with various national institutions, with the aim of introducing the Foundation's mission and its effective role in ensuring the safety and quality of food, the effectiveness and safety of medicine through the application of the latest international practices and legislation, and increasing citizens' awareness of the proper circulation of food and medicine.

Abu Samra spoke during the lecture about the conditions and safety of food in tourist and hotel facilities and the importance of monitoring such conditions for the safety of food production in restaurants that will be reflected on consumer safety, and the role of the institution in applying modern food control legislation in terms of applicable standards based on scientific foundations harmonized with international legislation while ensuring compliance with these specifications.

At the end of the lecture, an extensive dialogue took place between the students and the staff of the institution to answer any of their prominent inquiries.
