Signing a memorandum of understanding between Yarmouk University and Hyatt Regency Aqaba Ayla Resort with the aim of enhancing training and employment in the hospitality sector for students of the faculty of Tourism and Hotels

 

Yarmouk University, represented by its President, Professor Dr. Islam Massad, signed a cooperation agreement with the Hyatt Regency Aqaba Ayla Resort, represented by its General Manager, with the aim of developing practical training and employment programs for students of the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels at the university. This step comes within the framework of the two parties’ efforts to enhance the practical and applied skills of students and qualify them to engage in the hotel and tourism labor market with high efficiency

This agreement seeks to provide a practical training environment for students of the Hotel Management Department, in line with the requirements of the local and international labor market. This cooperation comes within the framework of the university’s commitment to developing students’ practical and field skills, which contributes to qualifying them to work in the most prestigious hotels inside and outside Jordan.

The agreement also allows for the possibility of signing permanent employment contracts for outstanding students during the training period, in accordance with the regulations of the Jordanian Ministry of Labor and hotel policies. This is an important incentive for students to exert their maximum efforts during the training period to ensure obtaining job opportunities after graduation. For its part, the resort is committed to granting trainees an experience certificate upon successful completion of the training period, while providing employment opportunities for distinguished students in accordance with applicable regulations and instructions.

For his part, Professor Dr. Islam Massad, President of Yarmouk University, confirmed that this agreement comes within the university’s efforts to develop its academic programs and link them to the private sector, pointing out the importance of cooperation with prestigious institutions such as the Hyatt Regency Aqaba Ayla Resort to enhance students’ readiness for the labor market. 

General Manager of Hyatt Regency Aqaba Resort, Ayla, expressed his pride in this partnership, stressing that the resort is keen to support national competencies and contribute to the development of the hospitality sector in Jordan, considering this agreement an important step towards strengthening qualified human resources in the field of tourism.

The Dean of the faculty of Tourism and Hotels, Professor Dr. Akram Al-Rawashdeh, indicated that the signing of this agreement reflects the faculty’s commitment to providing its students with practical skills that are in line with the requirements of the labor market. Which is part of our ongoing strategy to enhance applied education. He said: “We believe that the field experience that our students will receive at the Hyatt Regency Aqaba Ayla Resort will give them the opportunity to gain real experiences and expand their professional horizons, which will contribute to raising their level of efficiency and competitiveness in the hotel labor market locally and internationally.”
