Outstanding Launch of the Culinary Arts Diploma at the Faculty of Tourism and Hotel Management – Yarmouk University: Professional Training and Direct Employment Opportunities
In a pioneering step to enhance hospitality education, the Faculty of Tourism and Hotel Management at Yarmouk University has launched a Culinary Arts Diploma Program in collaboration with the Queen Rania Center, aiming to prepare distinguished professional cadres in the world of culinary arts. Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Akram Rawashdeh, met with the students enrolled in the diploma program, accompanied by Vice Dean Prof. Omar Al-Ananzeh and several faculty and administrative members from the Department of Hotel Management. The attendees emphasized the importance of this diploma in equipping students with the practical skills required by the labor market.
This initiative stems from the Faculty’s awareness of the local, regional, and global demand for well-trained and qualified personnel in the culinary field. The program was approved by Prof. Islam Massad, President of Yarmouk University. Graduates will receive a certificate accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education, Yarmouk University, and the Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The meeting featured a special session via Zoom with Chef Ali Freitkh, who addressed the students about the significance of the Culinary Arts Diploma, highlighting key areas they should focus on during their educational journey. He also outlined the promising job opportunities in the field. Additionally, Eng. Zaid Al-Mustarih, Director of Recruitment at Al-Wala’a Company in the Northern Region, delivered a detailed presentation on employment opportunities, salary scales, and benefits offered to graduates. He also announced the company’s commitment to directly employ students enrolled in the diploma, providing a major incentive for those aspiring to enter the culinary world with professionalism and confidence.
This program underscores Yarmouk University's role in bridging education with the labor market and in opening new horizons for ambitious youth in the hospitality and hotel industry.
