Faculty of Tourism and Hotels Holds a Workshop for Faculty Members and Students to Discuss the UNWTO Report on TedQual International Accreditation

On Tuesday, March 11, 2025, the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels held a workshop in the faculty auditorium to discuss the TedQual international accreditation, with the participation of faculty members and students. The workshop addressed several key topics, including the strengths and weaknesses of the Tourism Management Program, which has received this international accreditation, and the role of students in enhancing academic quality standards.

The lecture, presented by Prof. Abdel Qader Ababneh and Dr. Mohammad Al-Badarna from the Department of Tourism Management, highlighted the importance of international accreditation in raising the quality of higher education and improving its outcomes. The session focused on how the faculty can leverage these standards to achieve academic excellence. It also shed light on the challenges faced by educational institutions in meeting international accreditation requirements and strategies to overcome them.

Participants emphasized the active role of students in this context, discussing how their engagement can support a culture of quality and adherence to accreditation standards, thus contributing to excellence at both the local and international levels.

Prof. Akram Rawashdeh, Dean of the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels, praised the efforts made to strengthen quality standards and international accreditation, noting that achieving such accreditation is not solely the responsibility of the teaching staff, but a collective effort that includes students—who are the cornerstone of this endeavor. "We are working together to ensure our faculty becomes a beacon of knowledge and excellence, achieving the highest global academic standards," he said.

It is worth noting that the Tourism Management Program has received international accreditation from the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) for the third time, with the current accreditation period spanning from 2024 to 2027.
