Faculty of Tourism and Hotels Participates in the Arab-International Academic Meeting on Green Jobs in Tunisia
The Faculty of Tourism and Hotels participated in the Arab-International Academic Meeting on Cooperation in Green Jobs, organized by the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) in collaboration with the Institute of Tourism Studies in Malta.
Yarmouk University was invited to participate through a delegation that included:
- Dr. Mousa Rababah, Vice President for Academic Affairs
- Dr. Akram Rawashdeh, Dean of the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels
Dr. Rawashdeh presented an overview of tourism education at the university, highlighting its accredited academic programs and achievements. He noted that the faculty is the first tourism college in the region to receive international accreditation from the World Tourism Organization.
He emphasized the faculty’s focus on professional preparation of students and linking them to the local and international labor market by developing their skills and promoting employment opportunities in their fields.
On the sidelines of the meeting, the Yarmouk delegation held several meetings to strengthen academic and research cooperation. These included:
- A meeting with Jordan’s Ambassador to Tunisia, Abdullah Abu Rumman, who expressed pride in Yarmouk University and its contributions to education and knowledge.
- A meeting with Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, and Dr. Mohammad Sanad Abu Darwish, Director of the Science and Research Department at ALECSO. Dr. Rababah presented Yarmouk University’s programs, vision, and strategic plan for 2026–2030.
Dr. Ould Amar praised Yarmouk University as a distinguished Arab academic institution and expressed ALECSO’s readiness to cooperate and support the establishment of an ALECSO Chair at the university.
