Faculty of Tourism and Hotels Organizes a Workshop on “Communication Skills” to Enhance Students’ Capabilities

As part of the strategic plan of the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels at Yarmouk University, and in line with its commitment to developing students’ skills and enhancing their personal and professional competencies, the faculty organized a training workshop titled “Communication Skills,” presented by Mr. Zaher Khassawneh, Assistant Dean for Quality and Training Affairs.

During the workshop, Mr. Zahir Khassawneh discussed several key aspects of communication, including the concept and importance of communication in both academic and professional life, the different types and benefits of communication, and the obstacles that individuals may face during the communication process. He also highlighted the importance of body language and its vital role in effectively conveying messages—particularly for students of tourism and hospitality.

He also emphasized to the students that possessing communication skills is one of the fundamental pillars of success in the fields of tourism and hospitality. He stressed the importance of continuously refining these skills, as they have a direct impact on improving the work environment and building successful professional relationships.

At the end of the workshop, an open discussion was held, allowing students to share their thoughts and ask questions on the topic. The students showed great commitment and praised the workshop’s valuable and practical content, emphasizing the importance of such training activities in preparing them for the job market with competence and distinction.

This workshop is part of a series of training programs and activities organized by the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels as part of its strategic plan, which aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills that enhance their competitiveness in the tourism and hospitality labor market.
