Field Visit by Faculty Members to Al-Alawneh & Aliance Travel Agencies
As part of the Faculty of Tourism and Hotel Management at Yarmouk University’s efforts to strengthen cooperation with the tourism sector and meet the requirements of the Field Training course, Mr. Zahir Khassawneh, Assistant Dean for Quality Affairs and instructor of Airline Reservation Systems, and Dr. Mohammad Abuhjeeleh, instructor of the Field Training course in Travel and Tourism Agencies, conducted field visits to Al-Alawneh Travel and Tourism and Aliance Travel and Tourism.
During the visits, the faculty members met with agency directors and staff specializing in airline reservations, ticketing, and tourism program management. Discussions centered on enhancing collaboration to provide high-quality student training, improve practical skills in global distribution systems and customer service, and strengthen understanding of operational procedures within travel agencies.
Mr. Khassawneh highlighted the importance of linking academic learning with real-world practice, emphasizing that field training in active tourism institutions is vital for preparing students for the labor market. Dr. Abuhjeeleh noted that the visits align with the Faculty’s strategy to deepen partnerships with travel sector institutions and to support students’ interest in acquiring hands-on experience in marketing, trip planning, and customer engagement.
Both agencies welcomed the collaboration and affirmed their readiness to provide a supportive practical training environment that enhances students’ skills and employability. These visits form part of a broader series of field initiatives aimed at reinforcing the Faculty’s ties with the tourism industry and advancing the quality of education and training in line with sector developments.
