Periodic Follow-Up Visit to Desert Oasis for Tourism & Travel in Amman
As part of its commitment to following up on students at their field training sites, and in line with the requirements of the Field Training Course, the Department of Travel and Tourism at Yarmouk University conducted a periodic visit to Desert Oasis Travel and Tourism Office in Amman. The visit aimed to follow up on the training progress of the department’s students placed at the office and to review the practical tasks they undertake within the actual work environment.
The visit came within the continuous field follow-up programme adopted by the Faculty to ensure the quality of the training experience and to enhance students’ benefit from practical training in tourism sector institutions. It aimed to monitor students’ progress during their training and to identify the skills they are acquiring in the field of travel and tourism agencies, particularly in relation to customer service, tourism programme organization, reservation procedures, inbound, outbound, and domestic tourism operations, as well as services related to Hajj and Umrah and various tourism programmes.
Dr. Mohammad Abuhjeeleh emphasized the importance of such periodic visits in following up on students in the field and ensuring their ability to connect the theoretical knowledge gained during their university studies with practical applications in the tourism labor market. He noted that field training represents an essential part of preparing students and qualifying them to acquire the professional skills required to work in the travel and tourism sector.
This visit comes as part of a series of periodic visits conducted by the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels to follow up on its students’ training in different tourism sector institutions. These visits contribute to enhancing the quality of field training and strengthening the connection between academic education and labor market requirements.
It is worth mentioning that the committee supervising field training in the Department of Travel and Tourism consists of Dr. Mohammad Abuhjeeleh and Mr. Mohammad Jba’ateh.
