Dr. Mohammad Naser Abuhjeeleh participated as a keynote speaker in the Scientific Day organized by the Department of Tourism and Hospitality at the Arab University College of Technology. The event was held as part of the closing activities of the college’s Scientific Week under the title: Contemporary Issues in the Tourism and Hospitality Industry: Reality and Future Prospects.”

Dr. Abuhjeeleh’s participation came within the sessions of the Scientific Day, which included a series of specialized lectures and working papers presented by a number of academics and experts from outside the college. The papers addressed several contemporary issues in the tourism and hospitality sectors, including crisis management in the hospitality industry, sustainability in hotels, and the role of events in stimulating tourism during low tourism seasons.

During the event, Dr. Abuhjeeleh presented a specialized working paper entitled “The Role of Events in Stimulating Tourism during Low Tourism Seasons.” In his presentation, he emphasized the importance of employing events as an effective tool to reduce the impact of tourism seasonality, diversify tourism demand, and enhance the attractiveness of destinations during periods of low tourist activity. He also pointed out that organizing local, regional, and international events can contribute to supporting tourism and hospitality establishments, stimulating economic activity, and promoting the sustainability of tourism throughout the year.

This participation reflects the commitment of the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels at Yarmouk University to strengthening its academic and professional presence in specialized scientific events. It also highlights the role of its faculty members in discussing issues related to the development of the tourism and hospitality sector, while linking academic knowledge with labor market needs and the practical challenges facing the sector.

It is worth mentioning that the Scientific Day was held on the campus of the Arab University College of Technology, with active participation from tourism and hospitality specialists, academic and administrative staff members, and a group of students.
