Specialized Training Course in Airline Hospitality for Tourism and Hotel Students in Cooperation with Queen Rania Center and Al-Qusour Academy
The Faculty of Tourism and Hotels at Yarmouk University, in cooperation with the Queen Rania Center for the Jordanian Studies and Community Service and Al-Qusour Academy, has commenced a specialized free training course for a number of its students in the fields of airline hospitality and aviation-specific English language skills. This initiative comes as part of the faculty’s ongoing efforts to develop students’ competencies and prepare them for the local and regional labor markets.
The Dean of the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels, Professor Saad Alsaad, emphasized that this course aligns with the faculty’s vision of strengthening students’ practical and training-oriented skills and enabling them to acquire the professional and linguistic competencies required to work in aviation and airline hospitality. He noted that such efforts contribute to enhancing students’ professional readiness and increasing their competitiveness in the labor market.
Professor Alsaad further added that the faculty remains committed to offering high-quality training programs in cooperation with various institutions and community centers, thereby enriching students’ practical experience and connecting them with labor market requirements and the broader tourism and service sectors.
The training course covers a range of specialized topics, most notably airline hospitality skills, passenger handling procedures, English terminology used in the aviation sector, in addition to communication and customer service skills in accordance with modern professional standards in the aviation industry.
For his part, Dr. Shadi Shawahin, Director of Al-Qusour Academy, highlighted the importance of such specialized training programs in airline hospitality, noting that they play a significant role in enhancing students’ competencies, refining their practical and language skills, and equipping them to meet the demands of the aviation and tourism service industries.
The course is being conducted under the follow-up and coordination of the Dean of the Faculty and the Assistant Dean for Quality Assurance and Training, Mr. Zaher Khasawneh, in collaboration with the Queen Rania Center and Al-Qusour Academy. Supervision over the selection of students for the training program aims to ensure the achievement of the faculty’s objectives in developing students’ practical and professional skills.
