The Faculty of Tourism and Hotels at Yarmouk University conducted an exam for its students in collaboration with the Jordanian National Tourism Marketing Company/Amadeus, a company specializing in tourism information systems. The exam, held on Thursday, February 13, 2025, in the faculty’s laboratory, was based on the global Amadeus reservation system.
This exam was part of the "Tourism Information Systems" course, supervised by the instructor Mr. Zahir Khassawneh from the Department of Travel & Tourism. The course is one of the core subjects aimed at equipping students with the skills needed to work with modern technological systems used in the tourism and hospitality industry, particularly in flights reservations. Students who pass the exam will receive an accredited certificate from Amadeus, which will qualify them to enter the career of airline companies.
The students of the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels have participated in the exam, and their skills of using Amadeus systems were evaluated. These systems are among the most prominent global platforms for booking and managing travel and tourism services, including flights reservations.
Professor Dr. Akram Rawashdeh, Dean of the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels, praised the students' performance, emphasizing that this collaboration with Amadeus reflects the faculty’s commitment to enhancing students’ skills and directly linking them to job market requirements.
For its part, Amadeus expressed its satisfaction with this partnership with the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels, noting that holding such exams contributes to preparing a new generation of specialists capable of adapting to technological advancements in airline reservation systems within the tourism sector.
It is worth mentioning that the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels continues to strengthen its partnerships with leading institutions and companies in the tourism sector, aligning with its strategic goals of graduating qualified professionals who contribute to the development of the tourism industry.
