Research Ethics and the Challenges Facing Postgraduate Students

The Department of Travel and Tourism at Yarmouk University organized a workshop titled “Research Ethics and the Challenges Facing Postgraduate Students " on Sunday, November 9, 2025. The workshop was conducted by Prof. Dr. Mohammad Badarneh and Prof. Dr. Abdelkader Ababneh.
This interactive session aimed to enhance postgraduate students’ abilities in research ethics and writing and to address the key challenges they face during their academic journey. Topics discussed included research ethics and how to select an appropriate and original research topic, the process of choosing and working effectively with academic supervisors, and strategies for developing a clear and feasible research proposal.
In addition, the professors presented practical guidance on ethics and structuring research papers, academic writing conventions, and avoiding common mistakes in scholarly communication. Students were encouraged to engage in discussion and share their own experiences and difficulties in conducting research.
Professors Badarneh and Ababneh emphasized the importance of academic ethics, critical analysis, and continuous learning as essential components of postgraduate success.
The workshop reflects the Department’s ongoing commitment to supporting its postgraduate students, improving research quality, and fostering a culture of academic excellence within the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels.
